LED for healthy and productive workplaces

At the end of 2016, Swiss Post launched a research project at Härkingen letter center aimed at optimizing lighting conditions. Working with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, Suva and SECO, the aim is to improve research into the biological effects of LED light and improve employees’ general well-being, occupational safety, health and productivity. The findings from Härkingen will be adapted to all centers. The environment will also benefit enormously from this measure: in the three letter centers, it will be possible to reduce energy consumption by 6.7 million kilowatt hours and CO₂ emissions by 900 tonnes per year.
